Who We Are
SMS Manager is provided by Redwert. You can contact us at contact@redwert.com.
What SMS Manager Does
SMS Manager helps you read, send, organize, search, and manage SMS messages on your Android phone. It can categorize conversations, detect OTP messages, show reminders, and build local financial insights from SMS alerts.
Data Processed On Your Device
The app may process the following data locally on your phone:
- SMS and MMS message content, sender, recipient, time, read state, and SIM information.
- Contact names and phone numbers, used to show saved contact names and pick recipients.
- Phone and SIM information, used to support dual-SIM sending and inbox behavior.
- Extracted local information such as OTPs, reminders, merchants, amounts, categories, and message tags.
- App settings such as default inbox view, reminder state, OTP cleanup preferences, and whether you opted in to offers and product-update notifications.
This information is stored locally on your device unless you choose to share something manually, such as by submitting feedback with consent.
Permissions We Request
- SMS permissions: to read, receive, send, and manage SMS messages when you use SMS Manager as your SMS app.
- Contacts permission: to show saved contact names and let you choose recipients while composing messages.
- Phone state and phone numbers: to support dual-SIM behavior and SIM selection.
- Notifications permission: to show incoming message and OTP notifications and, only if you separately opt in, offers and product-update announcements.
- Wake screen: to briefly turn on the screen when a new SMS or OTP notification arrives.
- Vibration: to provide haptic feedback for relevant actions.
What We Do Not Upload By Default
- We do not upload your SMS inbox to Redwert servers.
- We do not sell your SMS content, contacts, or financial SMS data.
- We do not use your SMS content for advertising.
- We do not require an account for the current version of the app.
App Diagnostics, Configuration, And Updates
SMS Manager may use Google Firebase services for basic app diagnostics, crash reporting, analytics, remote app configuration, and optional push notifications. This helps us understand app reliability, detect crashes, measure non-content feature usage, manage optional or required update prompts, and deliver announcements you have chosen to receive.
Firebase diagnostics may include technical information such as app version, Android version, device model, crash traces, app interaction events, and app installation identifiers such as a Firebase app instance ID. We do not include SMS message bodies, sender or recipient phone numbers, contact names, OTPs, bank names, merchants, amounts, or extracted SMS content in Firebase analytics or crash events.
Offers and product-update notifications are off by default. If you turn them on, Firebase Cloud Messaging registers the app's Firebase Installation ID (FID) for messaging and subscribes that installation to an announcements topic. Redwert stores the FID in encrypted form together with your opt-in status so it can operate and secure the notification service. These notifications are currently limited to offers and feature announcements, not bill, transaction, renewal, or reminder alerts. You can turn them off in Settings. The app then unsubscribes, unregisters the installation from Firebase Cloud Messaging, removes its locally cached FID, and asks Redwert to remove the push registration.
Redwert Backend Services
SMS Manager may contact Redwert-operated backend services to check app policy, update availability, maintenance status, and download the latest parser rule bundle used for local SMS organization. App policy requests may include technical app information such as platform, app version name, and app version code. Parser rule bundle requests may include a two-letter country code derived from the device's current mobile-network country or SIM country so the app can select the rules intended for your country. If neither is available, the app may use the country in the device language or region setting. The request downloads the matching country rules together with global rules and configuration to your device. SMS Manager does not collect precise location for this purpose.
These backend services are not designed to receive your SMS inbox, message bodies, sender or recipient phone numbers, contact names, OTPs, bank names, merchants, amounts, or extracted SMS content. Standard technical request information, such as IP address, request time, and server logs, may be processed for security, reliability, abuse prevention, and service operation.
Premium Access And Google Play Purchases
Inbox is available without a paid subscription. If you check or purchase Premium access, SMS Manager and Redwert may process a pseudonymous installation ID, a one-way app-scoped installation binding, an obfuscated billing account identifier, app version, country code, locale, entitlement source and status, and entitlement expiry or lease timestamps.
For a Google Play subscription, the app sends the Google Play purchase token and product identifier to Redwert over an encrypted connection. Redwert uses the Google Play Developer API to verify the subscription directly with Google before unlocking Finance and Organizer. Purchase records may include the encrypted purchase token, a one-way token hash, product, base plan and offer identifiers, order identifier, subscription state, acknowledgement state, purchase and expiry times, auto-renew status, test-purchase status, and Google Play region code. Google Play also sends Redwert renewal, cancellation, expiry, revocation, and refund event notifications. Redwert does not receive your full payment-card or bank-account details, and SMS Manager does not collect an email address as part of the current purchase flow.
Google Play controls localized prices, taxes, supported currencies, payment processing, renewals, cancellations, refunds, and its own purchase records under Google's terms and privacy policy. Complimentary early-adopter access, when offered, is associated with the same pseudonymous installation binding and records its campaign, claim time, and access expiry without creating a Redwert account.
Feedback And Consent-Based Sharing
SMS Manager includes an optional feedback feature. If you submit feedback, we may receive the text you type, your optional contact email, app version, platform version, parser version, default inbox category, unread count, feedback type, the same two-letter device country code described above, and related technical metadata. We use this information to respond to support requests, investigate bugs, improve SMS organization quality, and protect the service from abuse.
For message or conversation feedback, SMS Manager asks for a separate consent checkbox before attaching selected SMS content. If you do not consent, the selected message or conversation content is not sent. If you do consent, the feedback may include the selected SMS or conversation details, such as sender ID, message body, message time, message type, thread or conversation ID, and related message identifiers. This shared content may contain private messages, OTPs, contact details, merchants, amounts, financial alerts, or other sensitive information depending on the SMS you selected.
You should only submit message or conversation feedback when you are comfortable sharing the selected content with Redwert for review. Feedback is not used for advertising and is not sold.
App Security And Integrity
SMS Manager may use Google Play Integrity and a Redwert-operated verification service to help detect modified, unlicensed, automated, or potentially compromised app installations. This process may handle security signals such as the app package and signing identity, licensing status, installer information, app recognition verdict, device integrity verdict, request timestamps, and short-lived security tokens.
The app creates a one-way, app-scoped installation binding from Android's app-scoped Android ID, the app package, and the app signing certificate. The raw Android ID remains on the device and is not sent to Redwert. Redwert stores only a further one-way hash of the binding. The binding helps associate entitlement and security records without requiring an account, and may persist when app storage is cleared or the app is reinstalled on the same Android user, device, and signing identity. It changes for a different device, Android user, signing key, or factory reset. Developer or QA builds may also use this binding to restrict temporary backend access.
The integrity service is not designed to receive SMS message bodies, sender or recipient phone numbers, contact names, OTPs, merchants, amounts, or extracted SMS content. Integrity information is used for app security, abuse prevention, and protecting backend features.
Data Sharing
We do not share your SMS content with third parties by default. Google Firebase may process app diagnostics, crash, analytics, remote configuration, and optional Cloud Messaging data as our service provider. Google Play may process payment, subscription, licensing, Android Publisher, real-time purchase-notification, and device- integrity information. Redwert backend services may process the limited technical, entitlement, purchase, push-registration, feedback, and request information described in this policy for service operation, access control, support, security, reliability, and abuse prevention. If you contact us by email, the information you include is shared through your email provider and received by Redwert.
Data Retention
Local app data remains on your device until you delete it, uninstall the app, clear app storage, or use an in-app deletion feature. Push-registration data is removed from Redwert's active registration records when the opt-out request succeeds; Google and Redwert may retain limited delivery or security logs. Installation, entitlement, integrity, purchase, real-time purchase event, app policy, parser request, server log, and feedback records may be retained for as long as reasonably needed to provide or restore access, process renewals and refunds, keep billing and campaign records accurate, comply with legal or accounting duties, resolve disputes, prevent fraud and abuse, support users, and operate the service.
You can request deletion of feedback records or other personal information that Redwert controls by emailing contact@redwert.com. We may need enough information to locate the relevant record and may keep limited records when required for security, legal, or abuse-prevention purposes.
Security
SMS Manager is designed to keep SMS processing local on your device. No app can guarantee perfect security, but we aim to minimize data collection and avoid unnecessary uploads of sensitive SMS data.
Children
SMS Manager is not directed to children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us through feedback, contact us and we will take appropriate action.
Changes To This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when the app changes. If we add new features such as cloud backup, accounts, transactional reminder notifications, or web access, we will update this policy to explain how those features use data.
